Hand with the planned location of a RFID (radio-frequeny identification) chip, and after the procedure. In 2004 Conrad Chase offered the VIP customers of his nightclubs in Barcelona and Rotterdam the option to have this inserted and in return recieve free drinks.
In 2004 18 employees recieved the implant to gain access to a secure data room.

The government has said no such chip will be used within the public, yet there is always a chance, as these chips could offer instant information on each person and even tracking.

Never say never?

Children of men

As i chose to look at surveillance for this next project (website project) as a start i watched the film 'children of men' (to be truthful i kind of also watched it because its a great film).
It didn't really have much reference to surveillance but gave a good impression of what the future may hold. It particularly shows the STEEPLE analysis quite clearly (social, technical, environmental, economic, political, legal, ethical), mainly through the seperation of ethics which builds the basis of the film. I could talk about the film extensively, but at the end of the day i'm not doing a film review!
If you haven't watched it you have to, especially within this project!!!
